Lucy Pierce (1818-1904)
Lucy Pierce was born in Vermont on August 21, 1904.1 According to the 1850 Census of Crawford County, Pennsylvania, Lucy’s father and mother were living just down the road from the home she was living in with her husband, John Hibbard. Lucy married John Hibbard (1814-1868) in 1835. Lucy outlived her husband John by 36 years, never remarrying. Lucy and John are buried in the Greendale Cemetery in Meadville, Pennsylvania. Media Lucy’s mother was Lydia (Hall) and her father was Amos Pierce.

Amos Pierce (1791-1857)
Amos Pierce Jr. was born on June 4, 1791, in Connecticut. Amos married Lydia Hall (1793-1855) on January 2, 1817 in Middletown Springs, Vermont. Documents Amos was farming a 1000 acres in Hayfield, Crawford County, Pennsylvania in 1850.1 Amos had been farming there for at least 10 years as he is listed in the 1840 Census 2 at the same place. In 1830, Amos was living in Albany, Bradford County, Pennsylvania.3 (Note: Their daughter (Lucy’s sister), Marilla’s death certificate lists New York as the place of birth for Amos and Lydia, although this is incorrect as so many death certificates are). Amos is buried in the Conneaut Cemetery in Custards, Crawford County, Pennsylvania.4
